Bio - Adhesive

The most recent addition to the treatment options for varicose vein is catheter directed adhesive. This technique has several advantages over the others, minimal injections, no need for stockings and near instant results. Being the newest, the longer term outcome for the technique is not known but early (2 year) results show it to be equivalent to other catheter based techniques. Its use in CVG is favoured in smaller varicose veins and for those that cannot tolerate either serial injections or are not able to wear stockings.
Some insurance companies do not fund the use of Bio-Adhesive yet. Please ask your Vascular Surgeon.
