CVG Covid 19 Precautions

We have introduced some changes to the way we work while the country is still required to take precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in New Zealand

We take the protection of our patients, staff and the whole community as a serious part of our responsibility when providing our services. Below are some of the changes we have introduced. For more information on how the changes may affect how we care for you please contact us.
Pre-appointment Questionnaire

When we contact you to make an appointment we will ask you standard questions to assess your risk for exposure, vaccination status, and carriage of Covid-19. These details will be used to allow us to plan your visit at the right time and the correct precautions for you and the staff at the CVG building.
Pre-Entry Check

Every effort will be made to avoid proximity to other patients and staff . When you make your appointment you will be asked to remain in your vehicle when you arrive for it. You will be phoned by our reception staff when it is safe and convenient to enter. There will be a final check before entry. Your details will be recorded at each attendance and a record of your visit times kept to allow contact tracing if required.
Physical Space

The clinic will look more empty than usual as we make space to allow for effective distancing. Chairs are provided for the client and one accompanying adult if required. No children will be allowed during the period of level 3 or 4 national alert.
Clinic Times

We will provide extra time between appointments to minimise the risk of multiple people within the waiting area and to allow for good physical distancing between patients and staff
Consultation

The time of the face to face consultation will be limited to 20 minutes to minimise the exposure to aerosol. Social distancing will be maintained throughout the consultation as much as possible. Clinical examination is usually necessary. Gloves and plain masks may be donned for this.
Telemedicine

For many patients physical presence at the clinic, with face to face consultation, will not be necessary. In these circumstances a telemedicine appointment will be arranged. This will be either by telephone or by video conference over the internet. Details will be provided to connect. This usually only requires an internet connection a smartphone, a laptop, or desktop computer with a camera.
